Center for Gender Advocacy and al. v. Attorney General of Quebec.

Following a two-month trial conducted by a team from IMK, the Superior Court declared several provisions of the Civil Code of Québec invalid due to their violation of the fundamental rights of trans, intersex, and non-binary individuals (2021 QCCS 191). The trial involved twenty-nine witnesses, and the Court of Appeal largely upheld IMK’s victory (2024 QCCA 348). This landmark ruling on fundamental rights led to legislative reform of the Civil Code of Québec.
