François is involved in a variety of files, with a special interest in all matters related to administrative law, constitutional law, and private law. He represents individuals as well as institutional clients. François also teaches private contract law to law students at University of Montréal.

François joined IMK in 2015. He was a law clerk to the Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada. Subsequently, he obtained a master degree (B.C.L.) from Oxford University in England, on a Viscount Bennett Fellowship, and was awarded the Tobias Law Prize for academic excellence upon completion of his B.C.L.

Representative work

Center for Gender Advocacy and al. v. Attorney General of Quebec: The Center for Gender Advocacy in a case challenging the constitutionality of provisions of the Civil Code of Quebec governing gender identification in official documents.

Concessions Caravane 1986 inc. v. Toronto Dominion Bank: Concessions Caravane 1986 inc. in a case dealing with banks’ professional liability in the context of online scams.

Instrubel NV v. The Republic of Iraq and al. : Instrubel in proceedings to enforce a foreign arbitral award in Québec before the Supreme Court of Canada.
