IMK represented the Association des juristes progressistes as an intervener in the landmark decision that recognized multi-parenthood in Quebec (2025 QCCS 1304). In this case, the Superior Court declared that a two-parent limit was unconstitutional because it discriminated against multi-parent families, and recognized for the first time in Quebec “family status” as a ground of discrimination under the Canadian Charter. IMK had specifically argued for the recognition of family status as a ground of discrimination under the Charter.
