On January 12, 2015, the Court of Appeal rendered an important decision on abuse of process in appeal (Charland c. Lessard et al, 2015 QCCA 14).

In the coming months, we will be reporting on decisions related to the changes the new Civil Code of Procedure as they become available. First up is the Court of Appeal’s decision in 9256-0929 Québec inc. v. Turcot (2015 QCCA 241) from earlier this year, which while decided under the old CCP is relevant on the issue of service for the new CCP.
