François joined IMK in 2015. He was a law clerk to the Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada. Subsequently, he obtained a master degree (B.C.L.) from Oxford University in England, on a Viscount Bennett Fellowship, and was awarded the Tobias Law Prize for academic excellence upon completion of his B.C.L.

François is involved in a variety of files, with a special interest in all matters related to administrative law, constitutional law, and private law. He participated in complex litigation involving state and municipal liability, and shareholders disputes.

Representative work

Ressources Strateco Inc. v. Attorney General of Québec: Ressources Strateco Inc. in the context of a $200 million action in damages against the Gouvernement du Québec for recovery of its lost investments following the refusal of the Minister of Environment to issue an advanced exploration certificate.

Center for Gender Advocacy & al v. Attorney General of Quebec: The Center for Gender Advocacy and named plaintiffs in a case challenging the constitutionality of provisions of the Civil Code of Quebec governing gender identification in official documents

Regroupement des citoyens du quartier St-Georges inc. v. Alcoa Canada Ltd.: Alcoa Canada Ltd. in a class action concerning allegation of contamination of soil and residences in the Baie-Comeau region.
